Sony has rolled out April security update for the premium Xperia X Concept smartphone. With software version 38.3.1.A.0.96, the Sony Xperia update is pushed as the countdown release. Moreover, the update page specifically states that it’s time to get ready for April security update.
According to the update page, the Android security level is dated April 1 and also provides a link where you can read more information about the Concept software.
You need not have to worry about the existing data since they will not be affected by the update process. Your images and videos will remain intact. However, you cannot switch back to a previous software version after the installation of the update. Hence, you need to be absolutely sure whether you need to install the software or not.
With build number N4F26T15, the April security update is being pushed to Sony Xperia X Concept handset with model number F5121.
Moreover, your handset will be refreshed to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. While the update page states April 1, the Android security patch level is dated to March 5 on the Phone status page after installation.
If you have access to Sony Xperia X Concept, you will view a message notification about the arrival of the update. The update is being rolled out via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the April security update to hit your smartphone. Meanwhile, you can also verify the status of the update manually by navigating to Settings | About device | System updates.
You should also establish connectivity with WiFi by disabling mobile data before initiating the download process. To recall, Sony had pushed an update to Xperia X Concept smartphones with a wide range of new features such as a new battery indicator alongside Sony Audio Effects engine. Sony also released an update to fix Bluetooth restart issues including a bug in the camera app.
