Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on Sprint has started to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. While the build number for the Samsung Galaxy S6 is tagged as G920PVPU4DQC7, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge accompanies a build number of G925PVPU4DQC7.
The overall size of the Android 7.0 Nougat update for Samsung Galaxy S6 series offered by Sprint is 1GB. Hence, you need to make use of a strong Wi-Fi connectivity to download the update to avoid interruption. Moreover, you should free up 2GB of storage space for downloading the update. Otherwise, you will not be able to install the update.
In addition to Android 7.0 Nougat, the update also provides new UX, enhanced performance modes. The update also includes improved usability of the notification features coupled with Quick settings button. You will also experience improved usability of the multi-window including a new setting menu. The update also provides support for Samsung Pass.
The update screen provides three options such as Later, Schedule Install, and Install Now. If you are ready to install, you should choose the third button.
If you are not ready and would like to backup data from the device, you need to select the option captioned Later. However, you need to tap on the Settings icon to install the update manually. You can also schedule the update as per your preferred date and time.
Like in the case of all the previous rollouts, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is being pushed via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphone. You can also manually verify the status of the update by tapping Settings option in case if you are unable to view any message notification.
