Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ was launched with many expectations. The main highlight of the premium Samsung Galaxy S8 series was the addition of a Bixby assistant. However, you will not be able to work with Bixby Voice feature when the smartphone reaches your hands after April 21.
The news is disappointing because customers have invested huge money in purchasing a premium handset and if a core feature is missing then Samsung will lose popularity on the market.
According to a report released by Axios, the key features such as Vision, Home, and Reminder will continue to work at the time of official launch. However, voice functionality will not work.
Launched on march 29, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be available for pre-order. The handset will be available from April 21 with limited Bixby functionality with support for English and Korean languages. As per sources close to Samsung, the Bixby voice functionality will be introduced within the next few months and an update will be pushed via OTA.
By introducing Bixby, Samsung is making an attempt to compete with Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana, and Amazon Alexa. Even though Google Assistant is available on the Samsung Galaxy S8, the company has decided to introduce their own exclusive digital assistant with a dedicated button on the left side. You can active Bixby to search for content by pressing the button.
