Sprint Introduces Android Nougat Update For HTC One M9

Sprint has rolled out Android Nougat update for the HTC One M9 smartphone with 4.27.651.4 as the software version. Terin Huber aka @TerinHuber took to Twitter and shared an image of the update page. Interestingly, Huber also tagged @LlabTooFeR, who is a popular tipster on the web. and also retweeted Huber’s tweet.

Tagged with build 4.27.651.4, the HTC One M9 update includes Android Nougat, Android Security update for the month of February 2017 including performance enhancements. If you install the update, you will be able to test drive the new features of the Android Nougat. Moreover, the performance of your device will be improved significantly.

The update is currently being pushed via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphone. Furthermore, the total size of the update is around 1GB. Hence, you need to charge the device completely up to 100 percent to avoid interruption during the update process. It is also absolutely essential for you to activate Wi-Fi since it will help you to install the update quickly.

Sprint has recommended users to charge the phone until the completion of the update process. You need to charge until the phone restarts after the update. However, this is not necessary if you charge to the full capacity before initiating the download process.

After the installation of the Android 7.0 Nougat update, you will be abe to work with improved Doze mode, split-screen multitasking, refreshed notification panel and Settings app. Moreover, the update also includes several improvements to enhance system performance since it comes with February security update. We wonder why Sprint has provided February patches in April.

If you work with HTC One M9 in the US, you will be eligible to receive the message notification related to the update with the relevant Download button. However, the distribution of the update will take few days depending upon the region. If you are unable to view a message notification, you can manually check the existence of the update by tapping Settings menu.
