LG Nexus 5X Gets Better With 4GB RAM Through Repair

In Laptops and PCs, you can upgrade the RAM easily. Nowadays, we have laptops which provide a slot for inserting additional RAM without opening the back cover. However, have you ever wondered about the possibility of upgrading RAM on a smartphone?

According to a XdaDevelopers member, he was able to upgrade the RAM on LG Nexus 5X handset from 2GB to 4GB during a repair process. When he approached the official LG service center in Hong Kong to repair a bad CPU, the officials denied servicing the phone. However, he managed to establish contact with a local repair service center in China. They agreed to repair the device.

He had to ship the damaged LG Nexus 5X to China. During the repair process, the technician contacted him and advised him that RAM should also be upgraded to 4GB since the CPU and RAM are included in one single bundle.

He immediately agreed and the repair process was successful. The user is currently working wth LG Nexus 5X with 4GB RAM as it is evident from the screenshot he shared.

With model number Nexus 5X, the Android security patch level has been tagged as April 5 coupled with baseband version M8994F- It states that the device is using 3.6GB RAM with 2.5GB as free.

Interestingly, the XdaDevelopers user also managed to install Android 7.1.2 Nougat on LG Nexus 5X as well. The user also shared screenshots directly from the device. According to the user, the phone is working fine and the repair has cost him $60. Instead of throwing the device, he repaired it and started to work with the phone in its full glory.

That said, if your existing smartphones goes dead, try to repair it from a shop. You will be able to enhance the performance of the phone without wasting money to purchase another smartphone. Moreover, the technology has improved in such a way that you can easily change the RAM without spending huge amount of money.
