ZTE Z839 Clears WiFi Alliance With Android 7.1.1 Nougat

ZTE is gearing up to launch a new smartphone loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The news assumes importance with a new ZTE smartphone bearing model number ZTE Z839 passed through the WiFi Alliance. With the availability of the WiFi certificate, you can infer that the device will launch within the next few days.

Tagged with certification ID WFA71375, the ZTE Z839 has been classified as a product with LTE Digital Mobile Phone. Hence, the phone will provide support for 4G LTE. The product has been shelved under the category Mobile Access Point, which is battery powered.

While the hardware version is given as Z839HW1.0 on the WiFi Alliance certificate, the ZTE Z839 bears a firmware version – Z839V1.0.0B01. The certification papers clearly reveal the presence of Android 7.1.1 Nougat with a frequency band of 2.4GHz.

Touted as the third generation ZTE Maven, the ZTE Z839 will feature a 5-inch display, Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage.

The handset will be budget-friendly with a price of below $135. There are reports that the upcoming rumored ZTE handset will ship with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage but we decline the theory since it would be difficult for the Android 7.1.1 Nougat to work properly with a feeble capacity of the memory.
