Samsung has rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones in Canada. In addition to Android 7.0 Nougat, the latest updates also include regular bug fixes and system related improvements.
While Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 has been tagged with build number G920W8VLU5DQD1, the update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is being given a build number G925W8VLU5DQD1.
The Android 7.0 Nougat brings in several features compared to the previous counterpart. You will be able to work with split window mode, improved notification menu including enhanced doze mode. Your handset will consume less power because of power and battery related improvements.
It will take few days for the update to hit your handsets because the company has pushed the update via OTA. You should note that the update is oriented only for Canada-based users.
You will receive a message notification when the update is available on your handset. If you are unable to see the notification, you will have to wait. Alternatively, you can verify the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About device | System updates.
You should also charge the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge handsets up to 90 percent for a trouble-free installation. Moreover, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid data charges.
