With the official launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the company has tightened the nose over the upcoming Galaxy S9 series. According to a report published in a leading Business publication, Samsung executives are reportedly in touch with Qualcomm over the development of Snapdragon 845 processor.
If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 will ship with Snapdragon 845 processor. Moreover, Samsung is gearing up to kick start manufacturing of the power saving next generation 10nm chips in a mass scale.
You should note that Samsung has manufactured the Snapdragon 835 processor based on the first generation 10nm manufacturing process. However, the upcoming processor will offer 15 percent improved power consumption when compared with the existing variant. You can also expect an overall increase of 10 percent in performance.
According to industry analysts, TSMC is currently engaged in the manufacturing of Apple’s A11 processor based on 10nm manufacturing process exclusively oriented for iPhone devices. The Cupertino-based tech company will integrate Apple A11 processor with the iPhone 8 expected to launch on September 8, 2017.
That said, Samsung is also currently busy with the development of Exynos process for the Samsung Galaxy S9. Based on rumors, the Exynos processor will be a major game changer in terms of not only power consumption but also performance.
