Oppo has launched the much-awaited Oppo F3 smartphone with dual front cameras at Rs. 19990. During the launch event, the company revealed that one camera sensor is oriented for selfies and the another one is aimed at capturing group selfies.
Meanwhile, Oppo also launched a new Blue-colored jersey for the Indian cricket team in presence of BCCI CEO, Rahul Johri. The newly launched Jersey will be used by the whole Indian team during the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Oppo F3 features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display with a pixel density of 404PPI.
Powered by a MediaTek MT6750T processor, the Oppo F3 is equipped with a Mali-T860MP2 graphics, 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB expandable (up to 256 GB) internal storage. With eight cores, the processor runs at a clock speed of 1.5GHz.
On the optics front, the Oppo F3 features a 13MP rear camera sensor with PDAF, OIS alongside a LED flash. The camera sensor also includes features such as geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, touch focus, and panorama.
The highlight of Oppo F3 is the addition of a dual camera on the front. You will find two sensors. The 16MP sensor will help you to capture impressive selfies. However, the secondary 8MP sensor is capable of capturing group selfies with a 120-degree wide angle lens.
If you think Oppo F3 will disappoint you regarding backup, you are wrong. The handset gets adequate power from the integrated 3200mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge support.
In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Oppo F3 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and microUSB. Moreover, you will also find a fingerprint scanner on the rear, which enables you to unlock the phone easily. You will work with ColorOS 3.0 on top of Android Marshmallow.
The newly launched Oppo F3 has been priced at Rs. 19990. The handset will be available in Gold and Rose Gold color variants from May 13.
The disappointing factor is that the Oppo F3 is loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. If Oppo needs to drive more sales, they should infuse Android Nougat. There is no point in investing for a smartphone worth Rs. 19990 which is loaded with outdated software. Moreover, the processor factor is also a cause of worry because of a low-end Mediatek processor.
Oppo should integrate a powerful Snapdragon processor to offset the pricing. It seems that Oppo will release a smartphone loaded with Android Nougat in 2018 when Android Oreo will be the leader. The market conditions need to be studied before launching a new smartphone.
Do we really require a smartphone for Rs. 20000 with Android Marshmallow? The battery capacity seems to be normal for the Oppo F3 when competitors like Xiaomi provides 4000mAh battery capacity for a low price.
Oppo F3 will ultimately lose out to Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, which is selling like hot cakes at a lower price. The pricing of Oppo F3 at Rs. 19990 cannot be justified at any cost.
