Samsung has rolled out April security patch for the Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE tablets. The update has been rolled out via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your handsets.
While the build number for the 8-inch Galaxy Tab A has been tagged as P355MUBU1BQC2, the 2014 variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has received the update with build number P605XXU1EQD1. In addition to monthly security patches, the April update also includes bug fixes as per the feedback from users.
After the installation of the update, the overall stability of the device will be improved to a great extent. You will be able to work smoothly without any interruption.
If you are eligible, you will receive an update message notification. You have to proceed as per the instructions on the update page. If you are unable to view a notification, you will have to wait for few days. You can also check for the presence of the update manually by navigating to Settings option.
You should switch over to Wi-Fi before downloading the update to avoid excess data charges. Furthermore, you need to charge the handset up to 80 percent to avoid interruptions. It is advisable to charge up to 100 percent before downloading any update.
To recall, Samsung had rolled out April security update for the 8-inch Galaxy Tab A WiFi model tagged with software build number T350XXU1BQD1. Even though the device is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you can expect the arrival of Android Nougat before the end of May 2017.
