OnePlus 5 Rumor Roundup: Features, Specifications and Release Date

OnePlus 5 will hit the retail shelves the upcoming summer. According to sources, the upcoming smartphone will be named as OnePlus 5 instead of OnePlus 4 due to unknown reasons. Specifications

The company also confirmed that the handset will be given the numbering “5” instead of “4” since the number 4 is considered as unlucky in China. Hence, the upcoming flagship will be named as OnePlus 5. With the company reportedly confirming the name of the smartphone, we can expect an imminent launch of the handset before August.

On the specifications front, the OnePlus 5 will feature a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage alongside Android Nougat. The availability of Android Nougat will help you to play with all the latest features such as enhanced Doze mode, improved notifications and much more.

While the rear side will have a dual camera sensor with 12MP and 12MP capacities, you can expect an 8MP sensor on the front for capturing selfies. As usual, the camera sensor will be accompanied with LED Flash.

Based on the rumors, we can infer that the fingerprint sensor will be mounted on the front. Hence, you can either expect the sensor to be integrated with the display or with the physical home button. The smartphone will get the required power from the integrated 3580mAh battery, which is higher than the battery capacity included with OnePlus 3T.

Regarding pricing, you can expect OnePlus 5 to cost anywhere between $470 to $500. That said, you have to accept the facts only with a pinch of salt since there is no official confirmation.
