OnePlus has released the first official teaser for the upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone. The company took to the official Weibo account and shared an image with the message “Hello5” alongside the official OnePlus logo on the top left-hand side.
Moreover, the status “Hey Summer! Give me five” along with an emoticon gives a hint that the handset will be released within the next one month. The word Summer assumes significance since it reveals the possible launch of the phone before the end of July 2017.
Based on the information gathered from the rumor mills, the OnePlus 5 will eliminate the traditional headphone port and integrate a dual rear camera. Nowadays, manufacturers are avoiding the headphone port to accommodate powerful battery and speaker grills.
When it comes to the specification, the rumored OnePlus 5 will ship with a Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with either 6GB or 8GB RAM. If OnePlus integrates 8GB RAM, then the handset will compete with Microsoft Surface Phone tipped to ship with 8GB RAM.
Even though we don’t have cost information, the OnePlus 5 will cost between $450 tp $650 depending upon the markets. There is also a possibility for the company to release multiple models in terms of RAM and internal storage.
