Asus has rolled out Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the ZenFone 3 Max smartphone. With build number 14.0200.1704.119, the update provides Android 7.1.1 Nougat for your Asus ZenFone 3 Max handset.
Asus took to the officialZentalk forum and revealed the information. However, we are unable to find any information other than the statement under the release notes section that the update is that of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
If you look at the model name of the phone, it is given as Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe with model number ZS550KL. However, the update is oriented for ZenFone 3 Max with model number C553KL since it is evident from the title of the forum post. We infer that it could be a typing error from the part of the staff who published the post on ZenTalk forum.
The update is being pushed via OTA. Hence, it will take one week for the update to hit your Asus ZenFone 3 Max. Asus has specifically stated that it will take one week for the company to push updates. Hence, if you are unable to view the update message notification, you will have to wait for one week. Alternatively, you can verify the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About | System update menu.
Before proceeding to download the update, you should make sure to activate Wi-Fi since the whole Android Nougat update will be around 1.5GB in size. You should also charge the handset up to 100 percent to avoid interruption during charging.
