Xiaomi Redmi 4 launched: Everything you want to know

Xiaomi has launched the much-awaited Redmi 4 in Gorgeous black and Elegant gold color variants. Touted as a budget smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 features a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass IPS display coupled with Snapdragon 435 processor.

According to sources, the Redmi 4 is identical to that of the Redmi 3s Prime. The processor runs at a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. Talking about the internals, the Redmi 4 will be available in 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants with storage capacities of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB respectively. You will be able to extend the storage up to 128GB via microSD card.

While the Redmi 4 is equipped with a 13MP PDAF rear camera 5-element lens sensor paired with f/2.0 aperture, the selfie snapper on the front bears a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The handset is loaded with MIUI 8 on top of Android Marshmallow. Moreover, the smartphone also ships with a fingerprint sensor embedded on the rear.

Recently, Xiaomi has been releasing smartphones with 4000mAh battery. The Redmi 4 is no exception since it also comes with a 4100mAh battery alongside dual SIM functionality. With a thickness of 8.65mm, the phone measures 150 grams in weight.

If you look at the pricing, the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage will be available at Rs. 6999. If you would like to buy 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, you will have to shell out Rs. 8999. However, if you are a gamer and hardcore tech addict, you will have to pay Rs. 10999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model.

The Redmi 4 will be available for sale on May 20 exclusively at Mi Home. You can pre-order via Mi.com and collect the handset directly from Mi Home, Bangalore.

If you would like to buy via online, you can participate in a flash sale on May 23 at 12 PM on Mi.com and Amazon. During the launch event, Xiaomi disclosed that the 4GB RAM variant will not be available immediately. You have to wait until the end of June.
