OnePlus is gearing up to launch the next edition of the flagship smartphone with the name OnePlus 5. We have seen plenty of rumors regarding the features and specifications.
The latest news emerging from Weibo is that the date for the launch of OnePlus 5 is scheduled on June 15. The image posted by a Weibo user with the handle ShiK time reveals the 6/15 alongside OnePlus 5.
Moreover, we can see a message which states that June 15 is equal to 6. Hence, we guess that the launch will take place on June 15.
Previously, the OnePlus has revealed that the upcoming smartphone is given a time schedule of a summer launch. Hence, if the company launches the handset on June 15, you can expect the availability of the handset by the end of June.
You should note that the company has recently announced the discontinuation of OnePlus 3T production with immediate effect. We infer that OnePlus has already started to manufacture the next edition.
It’s common for new smartphones to enter AnTuTu benchmark listing and OnePlus 5 is no different. According to AuTuTu listing, the OnePlus 5 will ship with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 5.5-inch QuadHD display, UFS 2.1 storage technology. Moreover, you can expect both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB expandable internal storage variants. There are reports that OnePlus 5 will ship with dual rear cameras featuring 16MP sensors.
It remains to be seen as to whether OnePlus 5 will beat Samsung Galaxy S8. However, you need not have to expect bezel-less display. There is also a possibility of launching OnePlus 5 with 6-inch display since infusing QuadHD on a 5.5-inch display will not be suitable for reading since the fonts and icons will look small.
