OnePlus has announced the launch of OnePlus 5 in India on June 22 at NSCI Dome, Mumbai. According to the company sources, the premium smartphone will launch at the event and the keynote will be rendered by the company CEO Pete Lau. The launch invite is affixed with the message “Focus on what matters“. Does OnePlus statement depict the presence of an enhanced camera? It prompts you to focus on a content which matters. Hence, it could be related to the dual rear camera.
Moreover, the statement is divided into the half with the top portion with a specific sky blue color and the bottom portion with dark blue color. You can infer that the one sensor will be oriented for capturing normal images and the another image will be dubbed for shooting images in low light conditions.
When it comes to the rumors, the OnePlus 5 will be equipped with dual cameras placed horizontally. Moreover, the image leaked by Android Authority suggests the presence of the rounded edges that look completely different from the previous counterpart OnePlus 3T.
Meanwhile, India Today recently posted an image which revealed the presence of the vertical dual-camera identical to that of the OnePlus 3T camera sensor placement. Upon inspection of the leaked design, we can see that the upcoming handset will eliminate the awkward antenna lines. The phone provides antenna lines but will be hidden. If OnePlus 5 ships with a horizontal camera mechanism, it will look similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus.
On the specifications front, the OnePlus 5 will feature a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat.
There are widespread reports on the rumor mills about the release of a premium OnePlus 5 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. If OnePlus release a smartphone with 8GB RAM, then it will compete with the upcoming Surface Phone. However, there is no sign of any imminent release of Surface Phone since there is no official confirmation.
