Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 by the end of November 2017. The development has been confirmed by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun by stating that a successor to Mi Mix will hit the retail shelves within the next few months.
Jun recently took to Weibo and confirmed that the Mi Mix 2 will launch before the end of December 2016. Going by the past records, we can expect the launch to take place in October or November time frame.
According to Jun, Phillipe Starck, who had designed the Mi Mix has agreed to work on the second edition. The company has entered into a partnership with Starck. There are rumors that the Mi Mix 2 will ship with a curved AMOLED display with 93 percent screen-to-body ratio. Moreover, the upcoming model will have thin bezels. Xiaomi is planning to infuse the same ceramic design.
Like all other handsets, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will have a fingerprint sensor likely to be embedded inside the display. However, few sources claim that the sensor will be placed below the display. The handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM alongside 128GB storage.
The rumor mills also reveal the fact that Xiaomi is planning to launch a premium model with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. The optics segment will be equipped with a 16MP rear sensor alongside 5MP front snapper.
