Moto G4 Play Refreshed With Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update

Motorola has released Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Moto G4 Play smartphone. With software version NPI26.48-8, the update is being rolled out over OTA in a phased manner. Hence, it will take few days for your handset to receive an update.

You have to activate Wi-Fi since the update measures 638MB in size. You can save a substantial amount of mobile data if you make use of Wi-Fi connectivity. However, if you have a high-speed 4G connectivity with unlimited bandwidth, you can make use of mobile data.

Even though the Android 7.1.1 update for Moto G4 Play will not cause any harm for the device, you should capture a backup of your images and videos. It will help you to easily restore data without loss in case if your handset faces any problem as a result of the update

If you are eligible, you will view a message notification prompting you to install the update. You have to proceed as per the instructions displayed on the display.

If you are unable to view a notification, you will have to wait for few more days. Alternatively, you can manually verify the availability of the update by tapping Settings icon.
