OnePlus has launched the fith iteration of the flagship smartphone named OnePlus 5 in Mumbai (NSCI), India at 2 PM IST. The handset will be exclusively available on Amazon India. The company has invited media, technology bloggers and YouTubers to attend the event personally. However, if you are unable to attend the event in Mumbai, you can watch the launch event live from your desk.
To watch the event, navigate to oneplusstore.in, click and hold the square box with the message “Focus on What matters” until the white color encloses the whole square. You will be redirected to a page with the caption – OnePlus 5 India Live Launch. If you select the play button at 2 PM, you will be able to view the live launch. Alternatively, you can keep a close tab on Twitter for live updates via the hashtag #OnePlus5Launch.
If you attend the launch, you can test drive the device after the event. You will have an opportunity to work on the phone and ask questions directly to the company representatives.
How to Buy OnePlus 5?
OnePlus 5 will be available exclusively on Amazon India at 16.30 PM IST. You should purchase the product quickly since there will be a huge rush. The stocks will be limited. Hence, we can’t assure you that you will be able to purchase. However, you can try your luck.
You can also purchase OnePlus 5 via the official online store oneplusstore.in at 16.30 PM IST. However, you require invite codes to buy the phone. If you had purchased the launch event kit for Rs. 999, you will have access to an invite code, which you can use to purchase the phone.

OnePlus 5 specifications
OnePlus 5 features a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage powered by a 3400mAh dash charging battery. The phone is loaded with OxygenOS based on Android Nougat. Hence, you will be able to work with all the latest features including OnePlus specific features such as App Priority, UFS 2.1 storage, reading mode, expanded screenshots and much more.
While the rear camera offers a dual 20MP and 16MP camera, the front-facing shooter bears a 16MP sensor. The 20MP sensor is a telephoto lens, which helps you to capture images up to 2X optical zoom. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the physical home button on the front. According to reports, the home button is designed using ceramic and is stronger than a glass.

During the launch event, OnePlus revealed the winner of Rs. One crore by conducting a live Q&A session with five final contestants. The company picked two from 5 and the winner (Mr. Soumya) was handed over a cheque worth Rs. 1 crore. Popular anchor Rajiv Makhni was the quiz master. Even though the questions were simple, the faster person to hit the buzzer with a correct answer won the prize. Interestingly, the final question was to guess the correct pricing of the OnePlus 5 from 3 options.
You can purchase OnePlus 5 from Amazon India and the official OnePlus online store. However, you will be able to buy the handset directly from the Experience Store in Bengaluru. Alternatively, the company is conducting a series of pop-up events across four cities in India as follows.

While the 6GB RAM/64GB internal storage variant of OePlus 5 is priced at Rs. 32999, the premium model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 37999, which is Rs. 2000 less than our assessment. The handset is available in Slate Gray and Midnight Black color options.
