In the meantime, Sony also started to roll out Android Nougat update to Xperia XA handset with software version 33.3.A.0.127. According to reports, the update includes not only Android Nougat but also May security patch.

If you install the update, the Sony Xperia X and X Compact will be upgraded from Android 7.0 Nougat to Android 7.1 Nougat. We don’t have any information about the exact changes made to the update. However, we expect that the Android 7.1.1 update provides fixes to several bugs including improvements and enhancements.

As in other updates, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphones. If you are unable to view the message notification, you need to wait for few more days. You can also manually navigate to Settings page and verify the presence of the update. The system will check whether the new update is available for your handset.

Last but not the least, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the handset up to 50 percent to avoid excess data charges and interruption. It is advisable to initiate a manual check for the update once in a week so that you can keep your device safe.
