Samsung Galaxy S8 Series Grabs Best Smartphone Award At MWC Shanghai 2017

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been adjudged as best smartphone in the Asia Mobile Awards 2017 at the MWC Shanghai 2017. The award has been handed over to Tong Wang, who is the Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, China.

The MWC Shanghai 2017 is being held in lines with the global MWC conference held in Barcelona in February. The event was previously called as Mobile Asia Expo and has been renamed as MWC to match the global naming standards. The event is conducted in joint partnership with the GSMA from June 28 to July 1.

Previously, the Galaxy S8 was declared as environment-friendly devices in the USA and also received seven awards for its Ostrich Dream ad. Launched at the Samsung Unpacked event 2017 in New York, the Samsung Galaxy S8 series ships with a bezel-less display, Iris scanner, dual pixel camera, Bixby assistant including dust and water-resistant capabilities via IP68 technology.

To pick the Best Smartphone, a leading panel of journalists, analysts and market influencers judge entries based on a wide range of factors and parameters such as design, user interface, user experience, simplicity, innovation, and value for money.

On the specifications front, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is equipped with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display, Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing snapper loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. A 3000mAh fast charging battery supplies adequate power for the device.

When it comes to Samsung Galaxy S8+, the handset features a 6.2-inch display alongside 3500mAh fast charging battery. The remaining parameters are same. Moreover, both Galaxy S8 and its bigger sibling provides support for dust and water resistant capabilities.
