Meizu A5 First Impressions


Meizu has announced the launch of the much-awaited Meizu A5 smartphone. The company has listed the handset on its official website. The Meizu A series is the new addition to a wide range of smartphones. Interestingly, the Meizu A5 is the first smartphone from the popular Chinese smartphone company.


Meizu A5 is equipped with a 5-inch HD display with a pixel density of 294 PPI. With a contrast ratio of 1000:1, the A5 handset integrates a brightness of 400cd/m. You will be able to perform phone related operations, navigate apps and web browsing using the phone. The display will not be large but it is adequate for budget conscious users.


Meizu A5 features a MediaTek MT6737 processor, Mali-T720 graphics, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage. The 2GB RAM helps you to perform work easily. However, you need not have to expect to play high-end games.


While the rear side offers an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture alongside LED flash, the front-facing snapper bears a 5MP sensor paired with f/2.2 aperture. You can capture decent images and videos. You should not expect high-end specifications in a budget oriented handset.

The front camera comes with enhancements related to Face AE Face exposure and ArcSoft smart beauty algorithm. On the other hand, the rear camera is manufactured using a 4-piece lens with support for continuous shooting and panorama modes including dual flash light and natural soft lights respectively.

Operating Platform

Meizu has not yet confirmed the Android version. However, we guess that Meizu A5 will ship with Android Nougat. You will work with Flyme OS.

Meizu A5 offers 3060mAh battery, which is capable of delivering a large backup time of over 2 days on normal usage.


In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Meizu A5 also provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and 3.5mm traditional headphone jack.
