If rumors are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will be loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat in the form of an OTA update within the next few days. The rumor assumes significance with the surfacing of the GFXBench listing with the Galaxy J7 Prime running the latest Android platform.
According to reports, Samsung is currently testing the Android Nougat platform for the Galaxy J7 Prime handset. The final build will be pushed only after the testing process is completed. There is also a possibility of the company releasing the Nougat build in preview mode to select users for feedback.
Launched in September 2016, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD Corning Gorilla Glass display, Exynos 7870 processor, Mali-T830 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage. If yo purchase the handset now, the phone will feature Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The GFXBench listing also reveals the presence of a 5-inch FHD display and 16GB storage. Moreover, you can also spot the RAM as 2.7GB. On the optics front, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime features a 13MP rear camera sensor coupled with 8MP front-facing snapper.
With the mention of Android 7.0 on the GFXBench results, you can expect the update to roll out to the Galaxy J7 Prime within the next few days. After the availability of the update, you will be able to work with all the features such as improved Doze mode, enhanced notifications, split-screen and much more.
As usual, the update will be made available via OTA. Hence, you should periodically check for the update by navigating to the Settings page. If you are able to view the update message notification, you should activate Wi-Fi before downloading to avoid excess mobile charges.
