Samsung has rolled out June security update for the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) smartphones. With a weight of 38.28MB, the software update page mentions that the latest bout of the patch addresses a critical security vulnerability including the installation of the Facebook app.
If you install the update, the performance of your device will improve considerably. Furthermore, you need not have to expect any new features with the update because the capacity is less. The latest update is being made available for Android 7.0 Nougat, which helps you to experience all the new features such as split-screen, improved notifications and much more.
Samsung has released the update with 96 fixes for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) alongside 23 vulnerabilities in the software developed by Samsung.
The official download page has specifically mentioned that once you have updated the devices with the latest patch, you will not be able to downgrade to the old software because of the nature of the update and the corresponding security policy.
Samsung has pushed the update via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) handsets. If you are eligible, you will view an update message notification. Otherwise, you should manually tap for the presence of the update by navigating to the Settings menu.
Before proceeding to download the update, you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the handset up to 100 percent to avoid trouble during the installation process.
