T-Mobile has rolled out June security update for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. In addition to the security-related patches for the month of June, the update includes new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
After the installation of the update, you will be able to work with an improved navigation bar with your Galaxy S8. Moreover, the icons have been added to the left-hand side of the navigation bar. Hence, you will be able to view more content without being concealed by the navigation.
Furthermore, the range of available background colors has been changed considerably. Hence, the background color will be set to the default color after you successfully install the update. In addition to the new features, the June security update for the Samsung Galaxy S8 also includes security related enhancements and regular bug fixes.
While the build number for the Galaxy S8 on T-Mobile is tagged as G950USQU1AQFJ, the big brother Galaxy S8 Plus bears the build number G955USQU1AQFJ.
The update is being rolled out via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the bits to hit your smartphones. You will view a message notification when the update is made available for you. If you are unable to view a message, you can manually check for the presence of the update by navigating to the Settings menu.
Before initiating the download process, you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the handset to maximum capacity to avoid troubles. The security updates will not cause any loss of data. However, if you are concerned, you should capture a backup of all your files.
