Sony has rolled out July security patch for the Sony Xperia X smartphone. With build number 34.3.A.0.206, the update has been pushed to Sony Xperia X handset with model F5121. Moreover, the update is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The update is being rolled out via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your Sony Xperia X smartphone. However, the latest update is being made available only to the single-SIM Xperia X carrying model number F5121. If you have access to a dual-SIM variant F5122, you will have to wait for few more days since the company is planning to roll out the update soon.
The size of the update is nearly 93MB and hence it will take only a few minutes to download over both Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity. The screenshot released by The Android Soul shows that the update is being installed with the completion of 48MB aka 51 percent.
The message on the download page states that you need to update the device to obtain the latest features and improvements. There are reports that the update comes with bug fixes including resolution of a bug concerned with Bluetooth.
Moreover, Sony also mentions that your data inside the device will not be affected after the installation of the update. You will not be able to revert to a previous version of the update after the installation of the latest patch.
Before proceeding to install the update, you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid interruption and charge the handset up to 90 percent. Please make sure that you have a proper backup process in place while installing via Wi-Fi because power failure causes the installation to stop.
