HTC has rolled out June security update for the flagship HTC 10 smartphone. However, the update is currently available only for customers based in the USA. With version 2.50.617.2, the update is being made available for unlocked variants. Hence, if you have locked variant, then you will not be able to install the update.
The update measures 277.74MB in size and include bug fixes including security related enhancements. Moreover, if you install the update, your the performance of your device will improve to a large extent including minor system enhancements.
Before initiating the HTC 10 June security update download process, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the handset up to 90 percent. You will be able to install the update quickly because the total capacity is less. You can also try to install the update even if the device is charged 40 percent.
Due to the nature of the update process, it will take few days for the new software to hit your handset. If you are unable to wait, you need to navigate to Settings menu and select Software updates option from the About menu.
