Sprint rolls out July security update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Sprint has pushed an update for the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone. The latest batch of the software update for the Galaxy Note 4 is being rolled out via OTA and it includes monthly patches which address security related issues.

If the update is installed, the Galaxy Note 4 will be refreshed with July security patch tagged with software version N910PVPS4DQG1. Moreover, the update includes performance related enhancements including bug fixes. The overall size of the update will be less and hence it can be easily installed via mobile connectivity. It is advisable to install the update via Wi-Fi to avoid excess data charges.

Sprint has already rolled out the update and it will be visible on the handset in the form of a message notification. Alternatively, the existence of the update can be manually checked by tapping the Settings icon in case if the notification is not displayed.

On the specifications front, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protected display, Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage loaded with Android KitKat. The display is equipped with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels coupled with a pixel density of 518PPI.

While the rear camera offers a 16MP sensor with g/2.2 aperture, the front-facing shooter bears a 3.7MP sensor alongside f/1.9 aperture. The handset provides support for OIS, autofocus including LED flash. A 3220mAh battery provides adequate power for the handset.

Before initiating the download process, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 should be charged more than 90 percent to avoid interruption during the update installation.
