Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, A5 2016 and A5 2017 gets better with July security update

Samsung has rolled out July security patch for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, A5 2016 and A5 2017 smartphones. The updates are being pushed via OTA and hence it will take few days for the message notification to appear on the display.

As usual, the July security patch consists of not only bug fixes but also system related enhancements and improvements. The installation of the latest update is essential for the proper functioning of the handsets. Moreover, it is possible to eliminate viruses and malware. With a huge number of people performing banking related financial transactions over smartphones, it is absolutely essential to keep all kind of unwanted malware at bay.

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus gets the update in the form of build number G928GUBS3CQG1, the Chinese model of the Galaxy Note Edge gets the software version number N9150ZCS1CQG1.

The company has introduced the July security update for both 2016 and 2017 variants of the Galaxy A5 smartphones with build numbers A510FXXU4CQG1 and A520FXXU2AQG6 respectively.

If the message notification doesn’t appear on the respective smartphones, then it is also possible to manually check the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About device | System updates option. Before proceeding to install the update, it is vital to charge the handset up to 80 percent and also to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi.
