Verizon has rolled out the required security patches for LG G6 and LG G5 smartphones. The update is currently being pushed to the handsets and will reach within the next few days depending upon the location. It will take few days to receive the update message notification because of the nature of the OTA update.
The latest update is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and provides bug fixes and security vulnerabilities. Moreover, the LG G6 and LG G5 will work with improved stability after the installation of the update.
With software version VS98812B, the update for the LG G6 provides the latest Android security patches for your device.
Meanwhile, the update for LG G5 is tagged with software version VS98729A. It also provides the latest Android security related patches as in the LG G6. After the installation of the update, your handset will work with more stability.
In case, the message notification is not visible, you can manually check for the new update by tapping Settings menu. You need to visit software updates option from the About page. Furthermore, you should charge the handsets up to 90 percent and establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid interruption.
