Samsung Galaxy S5 Gets Better With July Security Update

Samsung has started to roll out July security update for the Galaxy S5 smartphone. With build number G900FXXU1CQG1, the latest update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 includes several bug fixes in addition to system related enhancements. As of this writing, the update is being introduced to the Galaxy S5 handset via OTA.

According to Samsung, customers should install the update since it is vital for the proper functioning of the phone. Even though the update is minor, the stability of the phone will improve considerably. Moreover, the update automatically optimizes the security of the device.

Due to the nature of the OTA updates, it will take few days for the new software bits to hit your Galaxy S5 smartphone. The update is released in a phased manner. If the device is eligible, a message notification will be displayed.

It is also possible to manually check the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About device | System updates menu. Moreover, users should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the handset up to 90 percent to avoid interruptions during the installation process.

Talking about the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED FHD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected display, Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 graphics, 2GB RAM coupled with both 16GB and 32GB internal storage. The rear camera offers 16MP sensor, while the front-facing shooter bears a 2MP sensor. A 2800mAh battery with support for wireless charging completes the package.
