Vodafone Australia is gearing up to release Android 7.1 Nougat update for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. The official community forum page reveals the status as Submitted. Moreover, the update will have stability and bug fixes with the software version tagged as Android 7.1.0.
According to Vodafone Australia weekly post, the Android 7.1 update is currently under testing and will roll out within the next few days. After the completion of the testing process and certification from the quality control department, Samsung will push the update for all users of Galaxy S8 falling under the mobile carrier.
In addition to Galaxy S8 series, Sony will also release Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Xperia XZ Premium handsets with stability and bug fixes. The update has been approved and is ready for roll out over OTA.
To recall, Samsung recently pushed an update to introduce Google Daydream VR support for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones. However, the update is not rolled out via OTA because of the server-side nature.
Normally, users will view the Daydream app on the phone. If you are unable to view any icon, you need to clear all data from the Google VR Services application. Be doing this step, the relevant handset will get support for Daydream VR.
