Samsung Galaxy S8 Gathers Momentum With 20 Million Sales

Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8 was released with high expectations and has been integrated with Snapdragon 835 processor, Android Nougat, and Bixby operating platform. According to The Investor, Samsung has shipped 20 million units of the Galaxy S8 handsets.

The data generated by the research company reveals the fact that the Samsung has shipped 278,000 Galaxy S8 phones per day after the release of the handset on April 21. Based on this calculation, nearly 19.8 million handsets were shipped through June and the currently estimated sales figure of 20 million units sounds to be true.

With the imminent launch of the iPhone 8 and the 10th anniversary of the popular iPhone, the current sales figure of Samsung assumes great importance. Recently, Samsung’s mobile division chief Koh Dong-Jin disclosed that the Galaxy S8 has exceeded the expectations of the Galaxy S7 by 15 percent in the first three months after the launch of the phone.

Even though the Samsung Galaxy S8 was launched after a delay of one month, the overall sales of the Galaxy S8 have doubled when compared with the Galaxy S7 during the same time frame. We will have to wait and see whether Apple will break records with the release of the iPhone 8, iPhone X and iPhone Pro variants.

When Galaxy S8 was initially released, customers were hesitant because of the series of explosions caused due to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 in 2016. The success of the Samsung Galaxy S8 indicates that the company is on the correct path.

The Korea-based company is already gearing up to launch the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8 at the Unboxed event in New York on August 23. There are reports that the Note 8 will be equipped with Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage alongside Android Nougat and Bixby voice assistant.
