T-Mobile has started to push July security update patch for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge smartphones via over the air in a phased manner.
The update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been rolled out based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with baseband versions N910TUVS2EQG1 or N910T3UVS3EQG1 respectively. According to the official T-mobile software support page, the update includes security patches for the month of June and July.
When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, the July security patches are released under the baseband version N915TUVS2DQG1 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
In addition to frequently reported security vulnerabilities, the July security update also resolves several bugs found in the previous software build.
Even though there is no information about the capacity of the update file, we expect that the patches should not be less than 30MB. Hence, you need not have to activate Wi-Fi to perform the installation process. However, if you don’t have data support with mobile service, you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi.
If you are eligible for the update, you should view a message notification via over the air. You need to follow the steps as outlined on the display. You can also manually check the presence of the update by tapping the Settings menu from within the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge smartphones. Moreover, you should also charge the handset up to 90 percent to avoid interruption during the whole process.
