Sony Xperia X, XZ and X Performance Refreshes With August Security Update

Sony has rolled out August update for the Sony Xperia X, XZ, and X Performance smartphones. The update basically consists of security patches for the month of August and is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

When it comes to the Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance, the firmware version is tagged as 41.2.A.7.53. However, for the Xperia X, the handset gets a build number of 34.3.A.0.217 from the previous software version 34.3.A.0.206.

We don’t have any information about the exact changes included with the Android update. Meanwhile, Sony is also planning to push the relevant updates for the Sony Xperia XZs and Xperia X Compact smartphones.

Sony Xperia X features a 5-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 650 processor, Adreno 510 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage, 23MP rear camera, 13MP front camera powered by a 2620mAh battery. The handset is loaded with Android Marshmallow, which is upgradeable to Android Nougat.

Sony Xperia XZ is equipped with a 5.2-inch FHD IPS display, Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, 23MP rear camera coupled with 13MP selfie camera loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The phone gets the required power from the integrated 2900mAh battery.

Before proceeding to install the update, it is advisable to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid excess mobile charges. If the update message notification is not automatically displayed, then you need to manually navigate to the Settings option to check for the presence of the update.
