Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the next edition of the Mi Mix handset. If rumors are to be believed, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to launch by the end of 2017. A prototype of the Mi Mix 2 has been leaked via MyDrivers and it reveals the absence of the front camera.
Upon inspection of the leaked image, the rumored handset is designed with 100% screen ratio and will have a real bezel-less thin display panel. Interestingly, all the sides are free from any thick bezels. Normally, the top and bottom portion will have bezels. In the case of Xiaomi Mi Max 2, the phone will not feature any kind of bezels on all sides.
According to the user who leaked the image, the prototype render is indeed to be that of the Mi Mix 2. If the image is checked, it is evident that the earpiece is integrated into the glass chassis. The bottom border portion has been reduced to a minimum level.
The main highlight of the upcoming second edition of the Mi Mix is the elimination of the front camera. How will you capture a selfie then? It remains to be seen as to why Xiaomi has decided to ditch the front camera. We don’t have any information about the expected features other than the information leaked via MyDrivers. Hence, you should accept the fact only with a pinch of salt.
The leaked render is expected to be that of the bright silver variant and it bears curved corners. The addition of curved edges is not a big surprise since many premium companies are following the same path. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to hit the retail shelves by the middle of September for CNY 4999 or $748.
