Xiaomi Redmi Note is one of the most popular smartphones. The company claims that they have sold around 5 million units of the handsets. The latest rumor is that Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A with model numbers MDT6 and MDE6 has surfaced on TENAA with 5.5-inch HD display and 3000mAh battery. Moreover, GSMArena reports that the handset will launch on August 21.
There are rumors that the difference between the two models is with the RAM, storage, camera, and fingerprint sensor. Xaomi will eliminate the fingerprint scanner on one model and will retain it in another model.
Based on the TENAA listing, the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A will be equipped with a 5.5-inch HD display coupled with 3000mAh battery. The aim of the company is to offer a premium smartphone with a large display alongside affordable price.
Expected to ship with curved edges, the Redmi Note 5A will offer an HD display, Snapdragon 425 processor paired with Adreno 308 graphics. The processor runs at a clock speed of 1.4GHz and the chipset will be based on 64-bit architecture.
Talking about the internals, the Redmi Note 5A will bear 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of MIUI 8.5.1. We wonder why Xiaomi has not integrated MIUI 9. Do you really want to sacrifice software for price?
While the rear camera will have a 13MP sensor with LED flash, the front facing camera offers a 5MP sensor. The top bezel will incorporate an infrared sensor and can be used to manage electronic devices such as Television or DVD. The backup segment looks disappointing since the upcoming Redmi Note 5A will ship with a 3000mAh battery instead of 4100mAh in the Redmi Note 4.
In addition to 4G VoLTE, the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A will also provide support for dual SIM. With a thickness of 7.31mm, the handset will measure 151 grams. We don’t have any official confirmation about the specifications of the rumored Redmi Note 5A. We will continue to monitor the developments and provide you with updates. Stay tuned with NetAns.
