Coolpad is scheduled to launch the budget-friendly Cool Play 6 in Dubai on August 20. The company has mailed out media invitations for the launch event of the Coolpad Cool Play 6. The phone will launch on the same day in India as well.
The move to conduct a launch event in Dubai is part of the plan of the company to expand to emerging new markets. Moreover, the move will help the company to sell the smartphone where there is a huge number of the Indian population.
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 is not a new smartphone because the device has been launched in China a few months back. The design, features, and specifications of the phone are similar to that of the China variant.
Talking about the specifications, the Cool Play 6 will be equipped with a 5-inch display, Snapdragon 653 processor, 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB of internal storage. Likely to be powered by a 4000mAh battery, the Cool Play 6 will ship with a dual camera mechanism comprising of 13MP Sony sensor alongside monochrome sensor.

The front side offers an 8MP sensor. There are reports that the handset will be integrated with the Snapdragon 835 processor paired with a 4060mAh battery. The rear of the phone will be designed using aluminum material with plastic materials located at the top. Hence, we infer that the phone won’t be a unibody metal design.
We don’t have any confirmation about the rumored price of the Cool Play 6 handset in the UAE. We also expect the availability of the phone in India within the next few days. Based on the previous trends, the handset will be exclusively available via Amazon. The phone was launched in China at $217. Hence, we can expect a price of Rs. 12999 when the phone hits the Indian shores.
Coolpad phones are designed similar to that of LeEco and hence the build quality will be the same. To recall, LeEco is a major shareholder of the company and few existing Coolpad smartphones are actually manufactured by LeEco. LeEco, which entered the Indian shores to disrupt the technology hasn’t released any new smartphones after the launch of Le 2.
