Xiaomi has officially launched the much-awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A in Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, and Platinum Silver Gray color variants. Touted to be the successor to the Redmi 4A, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A features a Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with 16MP front-facing camera. The newly launched Redmi Note 5A is expensive when compared to the previous counterpart.
As rumored previously, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A ships with a dedicated microSD card slot alongside two SIM slots. The phone is preloaded with Android 7.0 Nougat on top of the MIUI 9. Hence, you will be able to experience new features such as split-screen, image search, and an integrated AI assistant. A powerful 3080mAh battery provides the required power for the handset.
Design
Xiaomi has removed the use of the metal polycarbonate body in the newly launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A. The speaker location has been moved from the rear to the bottom and located adjacent to the micro USB port. Even though the rear camera is housed on the antenna line, the LED Flash is located on the right side. You will find power/lock button and volume rockers on the right side. The SIM card tray is placed on the left side. On the top, you have an audio jack and an IR blaster, which is used to operate Television and DVD.
Specifications
On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A features a 5.5-inch HD display, 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM coupled with 16GB/32GB and 64GB internal storage models. The display size of the Note 5A is higher than that of the Redmi 4A which has a5-inch HD panel. The handset doesn’t have thin bezels and the thickness measures 7.7mm.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A will be available in three different variants. The 2GB RAM and 16GB storage model will be integrated with a Snapdragon 425 processor but it will not ship with a fingerprint sensor. The 3GB RAM variant will ship with 32GB storage, Snapdragon 435 chipset paired with a fingerprint sensor on the rear. The display gets a bump with a 2.5D glass coating. The 4GB model with 64GB storage space will also ship with Snapdragon 435 processor and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear.
Camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is equipped with a 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and support for PDAF, HDR including the ability to capture images in extreme low-light conditions. On the front, the 3GB and 4GB RAM model of the Note 5A features a 16MP front-facing camera with front flash. With f/2.0 aperture, the Note 5A provides support for 76.4-degree viewing angle and beauty mode. The default model will have a 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture without front LED flash.
Pricing
The 2GB RAM model of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is priced at CNY 699, while the 3GB RAM variant will be available for CNY 899. When it comes to the 4GB RAM model, you will have to pay $1199, which equates to $180. Xiaomi has fixed the pricing in such a way to suit the budget-friendly users. The phone will be available for purchase exclusively on the official Xiaomi website and JD.com at 10 AM. According to reports, there are more than 87000 registrations for the handset on JD.com. Hence, you need to purchase the product quickly after the start of the sale.
