Before proceeding to tap the download button, it is advisable to establish connectivity with the Wi-Fi to avoid excess data charges. Moreover, the handset should be charged up to 90% to avoid interruptions.
The update is being pushed via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for it to hit your smartphone depending upon the location. Alternatively, HTC also recommends users to manually check the presence of the update by tapping the Settings icon. To recall, the company had rolled out the August security update for the HTC 10 customers based in Hong Kong only recently.
Specifications wise, the HTC 10 is equipped with a 5.2-inch QHD (1440 x 2560) Super LCD5 Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected display, Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB expandable storage, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
While the rear camera comes with a f/1.8 aperture with support for OIS and dual-LED flash, the front-facing camera comes with f/1.8 aperture alongside OIS support. A 3000mAh fast charging battery provides adequate power for the handset. It is possible to charge 50 percent in 30 minutes.
