Samsung J7 Plus First Impressions: Features and specifications

Samsung has launched a new smartphone named Samsung J7 Plus. However, the handset will be initially available only in Thailand. The highlight of the Samsung J7 Plus is the integration of Helio P20 processor and Bixby voice assistant. Moreover, the phone ships with dual cameras on the rear and a large capacity front camera sensor.

Display

The Samsung J7 Plus is equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display. Designed using metal unibody, the smartphone provides support for Samsung Always-on-Display, which enable users to quickly view the contents without any need to wake up.

Performance

Powered by an Helio P20 processor running at a clock speed of 2.4GHz, the Samsung J7 Plus is integrated with 4GB RAM and 32GB of expandable (up to 256GB) internal memory. You will be able to play games and perform any extreme tasks without any lags. The 32GB storage helps you to store plenty of content without using microSD card.

Camera

On the optics front, the Samsung J7 Plus bears a dual camera mechanism comprising a 13MP and 5MP sensors with f/1.7 and f/1.9 aperture respectively. The purpose of the 5MP sensor is to capture the depth data to enable you to modify the image depth for those images captured with bokeh effect. Talking about the front camera, Samsung has integrated a massive 16MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture coupled with LED flash.

Battery

The Samsung J7 Plus ships with a 3000mAh battery, which is capable of delivering a backup of more than two days. However, if the usage is less, then you will be able to get an enhanced standby time.

Operating Platform

The handset ships preloaded with Android 7.1 Nougat. Hence, you will be able to experience all the latest features of the platform such as split-screen, improved notifications and enhanced power saving mode.

Advanced features

The Samsung J7 Plus features a fingerprint sensor integrated into the Physical Home button alongside always on display and Bixby Home app. Moreover, the handset also offers an ability to make use of multiple instances of apps such as Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

Price

Expected to be available in Gold, Pink and Black color variants, the Samsung J7 Plus is currently available for pre-order in Thailand for 12900 THB. The phone will be available for sale from September 17. However, the smartphone giant hasn’t yet revealed the pricing and availability in other markets. As part of the launch offer, Samsung is offering Samsung U Flex for all customers who pre-order the handset.
