Xiaomi has announced the launch of Redmi Note 4 in Lake blue color variant. If you expect that there is any change in the specifications, then you are wrong. The Lake blue edition ships with the same features and specifications except the fact that the model with new color will be available only with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The core reason for the launch of the new color edition is to fulfill the objectives of the Wake the Lake project. As part of the project, Xiaomiu has undertaken a responsibility to completely restore the Kempabudhi kerre lake in Bengaluru. The sale of the Lake blue edition will start at 12 PM on September 4 and will be available on Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Homes located across the country.
Commenting on the launch, Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Xiaomi India disclosed that the company believes in giving back to the community. The water bodies located in Bengaluru have been facing serious threats and problems. The aim of the Wake the Lake project, being undertaken under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to bring back the Kempabudhi kerre back to the glory. The proceeds from the sale of Redmi Note 4 Lake blue edition would contribute towards the fulfillment of the project.
Specifications wise, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Lake blue edition features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS curved protective glass display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera powered by a 4100mAh battery.
The rear camera provides support for PDAF and a dual tone LED flash. Even though the phone comes pre-loaded with Android Marshmallow, you will be able to upgrade to Android Nougat over the air.

In addition to 4GG VoLTE, the Redmi Note 4 provides support for dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, infrared sensor including a micro USB port. The infrared sensor helps you to establish connectivity with your Television and other devices. The Redmi Note 4 is also available in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants consisting of 32GB storage variants.
The phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the rear. The 4100mAh battery is sufficient for daily usage with a standby time of over four days upon normal usage.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Lake blue edition will be available via Flipkart on September 4 at Rs. 12999. However, if you wait for few more days, the phone will be available at a discount due to the festive season sales and the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days.
