Vodafone has established a strategic partnership with HOOQ to fetch and display the best of Hollywood TV shows on your smartphone from within the Vodafone Play app. In a bid to tap the requirements of a super-connected customer base, Vodafone India has partnered with HOOQ to provide unlimited streaming of over thousands of hours of entertainment not only from Hollywood but also Bollywood and local movies including exclusive series.
According to the latest trends, people are fast adopting smartphones as their first screen for entertainment. Vodafone claims that a recently released report indicates the fact that the time spent on smartphones has jumped by 16 percent during the Q1 2017 when compared to Q4 2016. The main reason for the significant jump is the strong demand for social media platforms and entertainment apps.
Commenting on the development, Dipankar Ghoshal, National Head – VAS, and Content, Vodafone India revealed that the average time spent on smartphones daily is significantly higher than TV, which demonstrates the fact that the engagement levels provided by smartphones remain unparalleled.
Ghoshal added that customers are constantly demanding enriching and diverse content options. The partnership with HOOQ will enable Vodafone to strengthen the base of quality content on Vodafone Play.
Meanwhile, Salil Kapoor, Managing Director, HOOQ India disclosed that the partnership with Vodafone solidifies their position as the country’s biggest premium video-on-demand service. The collaboration will ensure a wider reach for the company to provide Vodafone customers with the best of Hollywood movies and TV Shows across genres.
