Asus has launched the ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZB553KL) smartphone at Rs. 9999 in Rose Pink, Sunlight Gold, and Deepsea Black color variants. The handset will be exclusively available on Flipkart from September 21. Interestingly, the phone will be available during the Flipkart Big Billion Days from September 20 to 22. The highlight of the ZenFone 4 Selfie is the integration of an amazing high-resolution 13MP front-facing camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture alongside Softlight LED Flash. Moreover, the camera will be able to capture super-wide 140-degree panoramic selfies with the super-easy Selfie Panorama mode.

The integration of a Softlight LED flash in the Asus Zenfone 4 will be able to deliver the perfect amount of fill light in low-light conditions, which softens the skin texture. Moreover, it will expose the true skin tones to produce a perfect selfie.

In addition to the 13MP front camera, the Asus ZenFone 4 also ships with a 13MP rear camera with support for PDAF, LED Flash and EIS for videos. The company sources revealed to us that the smartphone will be able to capture valuable moments with vivid clarity and stunning detail.


Asus has designed the ZenFone 4 Selfie with Metallic back-finish paired with Nano-molding technology (NMT). The fingerprint sensor embedded on the front will be capable of unlocking the phone within 0.3seconds with support for 5 fingers. The sensor can also automatically detect fingerprints in all 360 degrees coupled with haptic feedback. The display panel is manufactured using 2.5D curved glass with 1.65mm-slim bezel thickness.


The Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie is equipped with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with 400-nits brightness for outdoor readability. The display also features Blue-light filter to enable you to read content without eye strain.

Powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor, the ZenFone 4 Selfie comes with Adreno 505 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable internal storage.

Selfie Camera

The front-facing camera features a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, Softlight LED Flash with the ability to switch instant cameras. The company has integrated ASUS SelfieMaster technology, which helps you to add smart beautification in selfies, videos, and livestreams.

Rear Camera

On the rear, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie features a 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, LED real tone flash with support for PDAF. You will be able to record FHD videos at 30fps. The rear camera also offers 3-axis EIS with the capability to capture still images while recording videos.


The integrated 3000mAh battery is capable of delivering more than one day of backup upon normal usage. It is possible to extend the storage up to 2TB using microSD card.


Asus has embedded a 5-magnet speaker with a dedicated outdoor mode, which not only produces a louder sound with less distortion. The phone ships with a dual internal microphone with ASUS Noise Reduction Technology.

Operating platform

The Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie is preloaded with Android 7 Nougat. You will work with ZenUI 4.0, which includes several new features. During the launch event, the company revealed that they have removed unwanted apps and groups few social media platforms into one single umbrella. The handset ships with a triple-slot tray with dual SIM cards and an additional microSD card slot. The slots are designed in such a way to enable users to install both SIM and memory cards in one single step.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at Rs. 9999, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie will be available exclusively via Flipkart from September 21, 2017, with free Reliance Jio 4G data offer up to 100GB. As a user, you will be able to avail additional 4G data in the form of one additional data voucher per recharge of Rs. 309 or above. However, the offer is valid for a maximum of 10 recharges until March 2018.
