Google Assistant in Pixel help you to control smart home devices [Updated]

Google Assistant

Google Assistant integrated with Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones has been updated in such a way that it will be able to take complete control smart home devices. For instance, you will be able to turn on your room light or fan using Google Assistant from within Pixel handset. Moreover, smartphones with Google Assistant will be able to manage Nest, Philips Hue, and Samsung SmartThings equipment. Meanwhile, Google Home has been integrated with Belkin, Wemo, and Honeywell.

If you open Google Assistant Settings option, you will view a new Home control section. Here, you will be able to view a list of devices that are paired in addition to a list of set-up rooms on your network. You will be able to add various devices similar to that of the Google Home.

According to 9to5Google, the ability to control smart home devices is currently available on Pixel phone running Android 7.1.2 with Google Play Services version 10.2.98. Moreover, you should install the latest beta version of the Google app 6.12.19.

In the recent past, Google has made a great attempt to implement new technology which will effectively control smart home gadgets with the smartphone. To recall, Apple Home Kit provides an ability for the digital voice assistant Siri to control a wide range of smart home devices.

Even though the integration of Google and Siri with smart devices is a step in right direction, it would be great if the digital voice assistant provides the same feature on non-Pixel smartphones. We hope by the end of 2017 several third-party smartphones will provide support for controlling smart home devices.
