OnePlus has unveiled a limited edition OnePlus 5 smartphone in strategic partnership with Castelbajac, who is the popular French-based fashion designer and artist. OnePlus is well known for the release of special edition smartphones. In the past, the company had associated with Colette for the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 5 Castelbajac limited edition handset will ship with several accessories and will be showcased at a pop-up event on September 22 at the Colette, Paris.
The OnePlus 5 Castelbajac limited edition is designed with unique art coupled with fashion material. It also features plenty of loose designs, thick lines alongside bright and loud colors in both the phone, wallpapers, and accessories. The OnePlus 5 Castelbajac limited edition is integrated with a unique color pattern for all the hardware buttons such as volume rockers and power button. The handset loads 10 wallpapers immediately after booting. Moreover, you will also view several surprise elements offered by both OnePlus and Castelbajac.
In addition to the OnePlus 5 Castelbajac limited edition phone, two Castelbajac branded T-shirts, a dual-layered tote bag, a Never Settle baseball cap will also be released. Moreover, the company will also unveil a phone holster in Red, Blue and Yellow color variant and a premium quality waist-worn case bag. The accessories will be available within the next few days and will be priced below $30.
In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 5 Castelbajac limited edition will have the same specifications as the standard OnePlus 5. The only difference is with the design, structure and the layout, which will be exclusive to Castelbajac.
The OnePlus 5 is equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD Optic AMOLED 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display with a pixel density of 401PPI. The phone features a Snapdragon 835 processor, the OnePlus 5 features Adreno 540 graphics, 6/8GB RAM, 64/128GB UFS 2.1 storage powered by a 3300mAh battery.
While the rear side is equipped with a dual camera comprising of 16MP Sony IMX398 and 20MP Sony IMX350 sensors paired with dual LED flash, the front-facing camera features a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor with support for EIS. The selfie camera provides an ability to capture images via smile with face beautification features.
We don’t have any confirmation as to when the OnePlus 5 Castelbajac limited edition will be available in the retail stores. Moreover, the company hasn’t revealed the pricing of the phone. However, we expect the price to increase by $100 since the device is a special edition.
