If the rumors are to be believed, the Huawei Mate 9 will be refreshed with Android Oreo. The rumor assumes significance with a model HUAWEI MHA surfaced on Geekbench with Android 8.0.0 Oreo. There are reports that the phone is most likely the Mate 9.
According to Geekbench results, the Oreo update for the Huawei Mate 9 will have 4GB RAM. However, the benchmarking data reveals that the fact that the phone will have 3698MB RAM. The handset will be powered by an ARMv8 processor running at 1.84GHz. With a single processor, the chipset will be running on 8 cores.
Google recently released Android Oreo with support for picture in picture mode. If the Huawei Mate 9 ships with Android Oreo, then you can experience all the latest features of the new Android platform. Interestingly, OnePlus also rolled out a beta version of Android Oreo for OnePlus 3 handset.
There are unconfirmed reports that Samsung is also testing Android Oreo for the Galaxy S8 series handset. In all probability, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will ship with Android Oreo. Hence, the Android Oreo for the Galaxy S8 will be made available before January.
In addition to picture-in-picture (PIP) mode, the Android 8.0 Oreo will provide support for instant apps, autofill for apps, notification badges and visual cleanup of notifications.
The Huawei Mate 10 will be launched in October 2017. There are conflicting reports about the release of the Mate 10 handset. Huawei should integrate Android Oreo with Mate 10 but few reports suggest that the Mate 10 Pro will ship in December. If Oreo is pushed, then you will work with EMUI 6 user interface.
