Samsung Galaxy X With Foldable Display Gets Certification in South Korea

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch the much-anticipated Galaxy X foldable display smartphone. The news gathers momentum with the handset getting the required certification in South Korea. Touted as the foldable display smartphone, the rumored Samsung Galaxy X gets the model number SM-G888N0.

According to Let’sGoDigital, the Samsung Galaxy X smartphone had surfaced in the Korean National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) filing records. Moreover, the phone has been tagged under the code name “Project Valley”.

The NRRA has listed the phone as a radio equipment for global LTE communication. However, when the handset was spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance, the Samsung Galaxy X was termed as a smartphone. In all probability, the Galaxy X will be the smartphone identical to that of the Galaxy S8 series.

We have been hearing reports about the launch of a foldable smartphone from Samsung for quite some time. However, the concept of a bendable smartphone is not new since the company had showcased a prototype of the phone named Youn way back in 2013. The production of a foldable smartphone seems difficult because of the complications.

We don’t have any information about the design and features of the Samsung Galaxy X smartphone. According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy X will e designed in such a way that it can be used not only as a phone but also a tablet. The design will be hybrid with premium quality materials.

According to Samsung’s mobile chief, Koh Dong-jin the arrival of a foldable Samsung Galaxy X smartphone will happen in 2018. Will it be released during the upcoming MWC 2018? Let’s wait and watch. However, the release date will again be pushed back if the so-called technical challenges are not resolved. Koh pointed out that the company has been facing huge challenges in the development of the foldable smartphone.

In terms of stock, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy X will be available in limited quantities. There are reports that the phone will release as a limited edition. Based on the latest indications, the Galaxy X handset will ship in the Q3 2018. However, you can surely expect a teaser and a prototype render during the upcoming MWC 2018.
