AT&T BlackBerry KeyOne Gets Better With September Security Update

AT&T has rolled out a new software update for the BlackBerry KeyOne smartphone. With software build number AAO750, the latest batch of the software update is for the month of September. The update includes security related bug fixes and improvements without Android Oreo update.

If you have access to the BlackBerry KeyOne on AT&T, you will receive an update message notification. You have to proceed as per the instructions displayed on the screen. Alternatively, you can manually check for the presence of the update by navigating to the Settings menu.

Recently, the company had disclosed that the Android Oreo will be rolled out to BlackBerry KeyOne handset. However, BlackBerry hasn’t given any estimated timeframe for the launch of Oreo update. According to rumors, the Oreo update will be pushed to KeyOne handsets during Q2 2018.

BlackBerry launched KeyOne in February 2017 with Android 7.1 Nougat. The smartphone got rave reviews since the device was the first handset to ship with a physical keyboard. Previously, the BlackBerry KeyOne was updated with support for swipe to type on the physical keyboard.

In terms of specifications, the BlackBerry KeyOne features a 4.5-inch FHD (1080 x 1620) display with a pixel density of 433 PPI, Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 3/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat.

While the rear side is equipped with a 12MP sensor with support for PDAF and dual-LED flash, the front-facing camera carries an 8MP sensor. You will be able to shoot 2K videos at 30fps. A 3505mAh battery with support for fast charging supplies power for the device. It is possible to charge 50 percent in 36 minutes.
