TCL has officially announced the launch of BlackBerry Motion during the sidelines of the GITEX Tech Week in Dubai. The highlight of the BlackBerry Motion is the addition of a full touchscreen 5.5-inch FHD display with a standard resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a powerful 4000mAh battery.
On the internals, the BlackBerry Motion is powered by a Snapdragon 624 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is possible to extend the storage up to 64GB via microSD card.
While other competing manufacturers are offering expansion capability up to 128GB, BlackBerry offers only 64GB. Even though it is sufficient for normal use, the 128GB will be optimal for long-term purposes.
The rear side is equipped with a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, while the front-facing camera features an 8MP sensor with support for LED Flash. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the physical home button with the official BlackBerry logo embossed on it.
During the launch event, the company officials revealed that the Motion handset will be refreshed with the recently released Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset is powered by a 4000mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 3.0. In addition to 4G VoLTE, the BlackBerry Motion provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS including USB Type-C port. The device is also resistant to water and dust via IP67 technology.
To begin with, the BlackBerry Motion will launch in the UAE for AED 1699 by the end of October. We don’t have any confirmation about the expected launch of the phone in other markets.
